There's really ain't no use in stoppin' what nobody never told me not to do
NEW RULE #917 No collecting snails (in the mud, right after it rains) and putting them in the poor dog's food bowl to see if he can "tell the difference b/w them and his food".
Like I always say, if said child had better parents, he/she might do better things. In the absence of clear instructions NOT to put snails in the dog food bowl...well, you see what you get.
Well GRANNY says perhaps said little boy was attempting to develop the dog's palate and give him a taste for French cuisine, a la escargot. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt, okay?
Well, has Luther ever appeared to be the sharpest tool in the shed?? I mean, he'll wind himself around Dad's tree a zillion times and still whine for someone to help him. So...maybe he can't tell the difference. Might even end up saving you $$$.
Well, EVERYONE knows dogs don't like RAW snails. Luther was probably interested in them sauteed in garlic and butter. I don't call that pathetic, I call that making your needs known! Sincerely, Corby.

No, the reason I found out so fast was that I heard Luther crying outside...he was nosing his food bowl, howling at the snails. He's pathetic.
